The 2008 Harley-Davidson Sportster® 883 Agree, Disagree? By The Dirkster(Owner), Nov. 19, 2010 Light, narrow, agile, with great flickability. No lumbering behemouth geezerglide bagger half-car size bike here. The Sportster engages, embraces, empowers and involves you. This bike OOZES soul with a connectedness to place all the way back to 1957. No Jap bike even comes close to it. This from on... e who rode them for near 40 years and turned wrenches as a professional mechanic. My 08 Sporty is supremely reliable, does not leak a drop and looks like James Dean. The EFI, rubber mounted engine Sportster is the best motorcycle on the planet in my opinion. And that's all I have to say about that. Acceleration was sluggish; but this bike is a joy to ride. It is not a long distance interstate hiway type cycle, but a real fun bike to run around ... locally. Fit and finish is outstanding. It has more suspension than the newer irons therefore more clearance in the twisties. Good power delivery but runs out in upper rpms, as do mo... st air cooled cruisers. Overall, it has been a great around town, back road, cruiser. Not too big and not too small.
